I've moved the Amazon response clock here now.
As of May 7, 10:30 p.m., the Seabird page at Amazon remains unchanged and I've received no response to my two previous messages to Amazon, (April 22, 10:30 pm and 10:45pm) or to the May 4 one I describe below. I've been so focused on upcoming doctor appointments & blog entries about DART, that I nearly forgot about the email I sent "Amazon book-typos" on Sunday!

Subject: Difficulty with Book Content Update form     Date: May 4, 2008

ISBN-10: 0979573823  ISBN-13: 978-0979573828 Publisher: Gryphonwood Press (January 2, 2008)

Hello, Book-Typos Staff Member:

When I last submitted content changes for my book, your software sent me this.

Automated Response received: Thank you for submitting your content! We appreciate your providing our customers with this information, and we look forward to enhancing your product's page.
Generally, content is posted on our site within five business days, but it can occasionally take longer. If your content has not appeared online or you experience any difficulties, send e-mail to book-typos@amazon.com. Be sure to include the ISBN and title of the item for which you have submitted material.

It’s been more than 5 business days since I used the Book Content Update form most recently--to resubmit the sections of Seabird's page on Amazon that have yet to be updated. (I resubmitted information via the form on April 14, so I think that comes to 14 business days.)

I was trying to resubmit the following:
Product Description
(revision to eliminate errors & truncation that occurred in January);
Author Comments (revision to eliminate an error -I- made when submitting it in March) Table of Contents (previously submitted but has never appeared)
Extract (previously submitted but has never appeared)

I don't understand why I'm having so much trouble getting this information posted to the page, especially since some of the material I submitted at the same time has gone through. Would it help if I sent you text files of the information I'm trying to insert? Is there anything else I can do?

I’m also confused about the discount for "Seabird", which mysteriously appears and disappears.

Please, if possible, could we talk to each other via just emails? In the past, I've followed the links provided in everyone's email responses and I've filled out the suggested forms but I don't think it's helping. In the meantime, I believe that the truncated and inaccurate Product Description on Seabird's page has substantially hurt sales.

Thank you!
Sincerely, Sherry Thompson, author of "Seabird"

P.S. Here's some reference numbers and so on that might be helpful.

Reference IDs
Surender R (Mar 27) provided a "No, the issue was not resolved" option (after our phone conversation) http://www.amazon.com/rsvp-n?c=yeyuhfva3478919732&q=pf

Lavanya (Mar 29) COMM ID: yeyuhfva3478919732 . She provided the "No, issue is not resolved" link: http://www.amazon.com/rsvp-n?c=agbuhxqd3231062700

Mark O (Apr 10) ref_id:=rcrfcdwd1090572036 (also ref_id:=frdfefwd1091424023 = just for SitB)
His recommended page to go to if his letter did not address the problem was:
http://www.amazon.com/publishers which redirects to:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=13685551
(I sent messages from there via the "typographical error" & "No, this page doesn't help" links.)

Hi! I've moved the official Amazon response clock here for convenience. As of May 7, 10:30 p.m., the Seabird page at Amazon remains unchanged and I've received no response to my two most recent messages to Amazon, re the changes requested on the page.  (My messages were sent April 22, 10:30 pm and 10:45pm)

If you don't know what this is about:
One sentence summary: Neither my editor nor I have been able to correct some of the errors on Amazon's page for my YA fantasy novel, Seabird, since it appeared in January. For more details, please look back to the
April 23 entry "Update ...
Battle...Amazon...Seabird..."
   http://tree-lady.livejournal.com/14574.html.

I'd love to hear reactions, fond memories of similar horror stories, suggestions, or whatever you've got. Especially suggestions if you have experienced similar problems with Amazon staff and eventually found a solution.
If you provide a solution to our Amazon situation that has worked for you and that works for me, I'll send you an inscribed copy of "Seabird".     Thanks for reading!

SherryT, author of "Seabird", who just wants Seabird's Amazon page updated properly so she can focus on revising "Earthbow".

(Apr 25)
I sent two new messages to Amazon, using the two most likely links I could find.

I don't think they make a form that can straighten out this mess.

My messages were sent April 22, 10:30 pm and 10:45pm
May 7 10:30 pm --No change at Seabird website.
May 7 10:30 pm --No response from Amazon re my two new letters.      ----->   15 days & counting

After I sent the first message, Amazon's website screen said:
"Thank you! Your e-mail has been sent.
We will reply as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours."

So, any guesses? It's too late to guess they'll answer in less than 24 hours.
Anyone for Three weeks? Never?
